Add The Journal to your home screen to read essays and join the conversation in its own app window.

   Open this page in Safari

   Use Safari on your iPhone. If you opened this inside another app, copy the link and paste it into Safari.

   Tap Share

   Tap the square with an upward arrow. Depending on your Safari layout, you may need to open the page menu first, then choose Share.

   Choose Add to Home Screen

   Scroll through the sharing options. If it is missing, tap Edit Actions and add it.

   Open as Web App, then Add

   Turn on Open as Web App if that option appears, keep the name “The Journal,” and tap Add. Open the new icon on your home screen.

An internet connection is needed to load essays and comments. To approve reader comments, use Review comments and sign in with your owner account.
